This Privacy Policy explains how Hotly (“Hotly”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Hotly mobile application and related services (the “Service”).

You must be 18 or older to use Hotly. The Service is intended only for adults and is not directed to children.

1. Information We Collect

Account & profile information

Email address and authentication details when you sign up (including via Google or Apple sign-in).
Profile details you provide: name, date of birth, gender, photos, bio, and interests.

Content & activity

Messages and content you exchange with AI characters, and characters you create or interact with.
In-app activity such as features used, coin balance and spending, and daily usage.

Purchases

Subscription and in-app purchase records. Payments are processed by Apple; we do not receive your full payment card details.

Device & technical data

Device identifiers, device model and operating system, app version, language, and approximate region.
Push notification tokens (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) if you enable notifications.
Install and advertising attribution data (via Adjust), subject to your App Tracking Transparency choice.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide, operate, and improve the Service, including generating AI responses and characters.
To manage your account, subscriptions, coins, and daily limits.
To personalize your experience and provide customer support.
To ensure safety, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
To comply with legal obligations.

3. AI Processing

Conversations and character-creation prompts are processed by third-party large-language-model and image providers, including OpenAI, Google (Gemini), and Anthropic, solely to generate responses and images within the Service. AI characters are fictional and not real people.

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on trusted third parties that process data on our behalf or as independent controllers:

Google Firebase — authentication, database, storage, push notifications, and analytics.
Apple — sign-in and payment/subscription processing.
OpenAI, Google, Anthropic — AI text and image generation.
Adjust — install and marketing attribution.

Each provider processes data under its own privacy terms.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers above, when required by law, to protect our rights and users, or in connection with a business transfer.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by deleting your account in the app or contacting us at support@hotlyai.app. Some records may be retained where required by law.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure appropriate protection for such transfers.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact support@hotlyai.app.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Service is for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by in-app notice.
